Creating tablescapes is one of my favorite things to do. And when it’s for a fun holiday like Valentine’s Day, I enjoy it even more. I just love bringing out different tableware, mixing it all up, and seeing what I come up with. With Valentine’s Day just a few days away, I’ve been playing with some tablescape ideas and came up with a couple of super easy options which I hope will give you some inspiration for creating your own Valentine’s Day table.
When I went to the grocery store the other day, I went straight to the floral department looking for something that could be the starting point for my Valentine’s day table. I was torn between the beautiful pink roses and some classic white hydrangeas, so I ended up buying both–with the idea that I would mix them together and create one big centerpiece.
Instead, I ended up creating two different Valentine’s Day tablescape ideas. One, using the roses, is decidedly more feminine–perfect for a fun “Galentines” brunch or lunch with the special women in your life. The other tablescape, with the white hydrangeas, is a bit more formal, and would be perfect for a more intimate dinner.
Both of these Valentine’s Day tablescape ideas were super easy to put together because they have the exact same foundation pieces: a white table cloth, white plates, gold flatware, white candles, and basic stemware. From that point, I simply added a few fun touches to make each table unique. The tablescapes I create never turn out quite the same, which is what makes it so fun and satisfying!
Two Super Easy Valentine’s Day Tablescape Ideas
Table One: A Pretty and Feminine Galentines Tablescape
For the Galentines table, I added some pretty ribbons and twinkle lights.
But it’s definitely the roses that are the star! Don’t you love that color? It really pops against the white backdrop.
This was a great opportunity to bring out the macarons we bought at Laduree when we were in Paris in November. I hauled them with us through France and Italy and popped them in the freezer as soon as I got back home. Needless to say, they’re a little dried out — but they add such a pretty touch to the table!
Table Two: A Romantic Valentine’s Day Tablescape
For a more romantic tablescape, I added some gold chargers and switched out the clear salad plates for ones with a cool geometric design. This helps keep the table from feeling a little too monochromatic.
I didn’t light the candles for these photos because I want the candles to look pretty until Valentine’s Day. Just imagine how lovely it will look with the lights dimmed and the candles flickering!
I love all colors of hydrangeas, but I think white are my favorite. They add a touch of elegance and ethereal beauty wherever you place them.
I love how a beautiful table can set the mood for an occasion. No matter what kind of food you’re serving, it always feels more special when flowers and candles are involved!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope this post gave you some ideas for your own Valentine’s Day tablescape. As with all creative endeavors, have fun, go where your inspiration leads you, and be delighted with what unfolds!
