You all know I’m a big fan of coffee. But it wasn’t until recently that I began using my leftover coffee grounds to make a coffee sugar scrub. Have you tried coffee on your skin? It’s quite invigorating!
Not only is caffeine a great morning pick-me-up, when applied to your skin, it not only exfoliates for a softer, smoother look, it reportedly can reduce the appearance of cellulite. And, of course, the smell is heavenly!
I’ve been using this coffee sugar scrub on my trouble spots for the past few weeks, and I have to say I’m loving this new addition to my skincare routine.
Not only am I noticing some tightening and toning, my skin is softer than ever–due to the addition of turbinado sugar and super-moisturizing coconut oil. (By the way, do you know about the 12 amazing benefits of coconut oil?)
Not only is this coffee sugar scrub made with healthy, all natural ingredients, it’s a great wake-up call for your skin and your senses!
Best of all, you can mix up in just a few minutes with ingredients you probably already have on hand.
3-ingredient Coffee Sugar Scrub
Makes about 1/2 cup
In the bath or shower, apply a small amount of scrub to your skin in a circular motion. Rinse thoroughly.
Note: Since this scrub is made with coffee grounds, make sure to use hot water so it rinses completely and doesn’t clog the drain. Also, if you’re sensitive to the effects of caffeine, I’d recommend using your coffee sugar scrub in the morning–I’ve found that if I use it at night it tends to keep me awake!
