Last Saturday was an amazing day as my daughter Natalie and I hosted a spring-themed baby shower brunch for my older daughter Samantha, who’s expecting a baby girl in July. To say I’m excited would be the understatement of the year!Since Natalie lives in another state, we spent the past several months planning the big event via text, phone, and email.
We scoured Pinterest and the web for ideas, tested recipes (and had a few flops), but, most of all, we had a LOT of fun!
Natalie arrived home a couple of days before the baby shower and we spent nearly every waking moment getting everything ready for the party, which was a 10:00 a.m. brunch.
As you’ll see from the photos, everything revolved around flowers and the color PINK, although we did throw in a little bit of orange and white for some flair.
Twenty-four beautiful and amazing ladies (and one sweet little gentleman) attended the baby shower, and each and every one of them added so much joy to the occasion!
Our baby shower guests were greeted by Natalie’s darling “It’s a Girl” banner in the entryway.
Thankfully, the weather was beautiful, so we were able to set up two long tables on the patio. Dave and Jesse worked very hard removing all of our patio furniture, setting up tables and chairs, and hanging lights and lanterns.
For food, we served typical brunch fare: quiche, fruit, assorted breads, croissants, and scones.

Drink options included water accented with frozen raspberries, coffee, and strawberry punch.
And, since it was a party, of course we had cupcakes! We served both strawberry cupcakes and hummingbird cupcakes–which contain yummy coconut, pineapple, bananas, and walnuts.

After enjoying our cupcakes, we moved on to games.
First, we played a trivia game where guests guessed the answers to several questions about Sam and Garth’s plans for their baby girl.
Then we played a “left and right” game, where I read a story incorporating the words “left” and “right,” and guests had to pass the prizes according to the directions I gave. The ones holding the prizes when the story ended got to keep them.
Finally, we played “The Price is Right.”
I thought The Price is Right was especially fun, and I highly recommend playing it at your next baby shower! Natalie made beautiful playing cards showing each of the items we displayed. Everyone filled out their cards, guessing the prices, and then we had Samantha “come on down” and play!
Next, it was time to open the gifts! Samantha received an amazing array of beautiful presents. Everyone was so generous, thoughtful, and creative!
After Sam finished opening all of her wonderful gifts, it was time to say goodbye to our treasured friends and family members.
As a “thank you” for coming, we gave each guest a jar of peppermint sugar scrub, handmade by the amazing Natalie.
This little sign sums it all up — thank you for coming! Our wonderful guests (and, of course, our cherished guest of honor, Samantha) made our celebration so special!
And, a BIG thank you to my wonderful daughter Natalie for allowing me to use her photos in this post and for all of her amazing ideas, creativity, and hard work.
All of the pizzazz-y ideas for the baby shower came from her! Visit Natalie on her blog, The Enchanting Life, for more great ideas!
Now, on to the next exciting event — the arrival of Samantha and Garth’s Sweet Baby Girl! xo
