Do you find that once a project is completed in your home, you immediately start planning the next one? Now that our wood flooring project is almost done (thanks to my wonderful hubby), my thoughts are moving on to the next thing on my wish list: updating our kitchen. It won’t be a major remodel, since our cabinets are in good shape, but I’d love to replace the lighting, counter tops and backsplash to give it a fresh look.
Currently, we have cherry wood cabinets and gold granite counter tops, with a tan stone backsplash. And while it was all in style when we moved into our home 8 years ago, I’m ready to lighten things up a bit with quartz or quartzite counter tops and a more contemporary backsplash.
When I first started thinking about sprucing up our kitchen, I thought choosing the material for the backsplash would be a no-brainer: white subway tile. Since then, though, I’ve seen so many creative and beautiful ideas for backsplashes that my mind is opening up to other possibilities. Just take a look all the beautiful kitchen backsplash ideas below, and you’ll see what I mean!
Aren’t they gorgeous? And this is just a small sampling of what’s out there! Honestly, I don’t know how brave I’ll be once it’s time to make a final decision on our kitchen backsplash, but in the meantime, these beauties are giving me all sorts of great inspiration!
Have a wonderful day! xo jane
P.S. I found most of these photos over on Pinterest and tried to credit the original sources where possible, but some of the pins were vague as to the original designer. I’d love to give full credit to the owner/designer of each of these beautiful kitchens, so if you know the original source for any I couldn’t identify, please let me know and I’ll amend my post!
